Fitness Exercise 12 minutes A Week?

I hate fitness exercise. I'm lazy and happy to spend my time sitting in front of a computer. Each time I tried an exercise program I hated it and soon gave up with the excuse that I didn't have time to spend on it.

At last I've found a program that I can stick with. I still hate exercise, but can't make the excuse that I don't have time for 4 minutes every second day. And as I do a 1 minute bout of exercise, I've got 3 minutes of relaxation to enjoy before the next 30 second bout of exercise.

Cardio, Aerobics and Marathons are deadly

The first man ever to run a marathon had time to gasp out "We won" before he dropped dead of a heart attack. Prolonged exercise has been killing people ever since.

Think about it. Prolonged exercise is un-natural.

If you are a hunter, you spend most of your time stalking the prey, then a heart-thumping minute running up to the prey to stab it to death, then a few minutes of rest before you start to butcher the animal.

If you are a farmer, you lift a sack onto a trailer, walk back to the stack of sacks and lift the next one up. Farm workers keep taking breaks because their bodies object to prolonged exercise.

Even your heart rests most of the time. Each chamber contracts violently at the right time, then has a nice long rest before the next heart beat.

Exercise Equipment

What will it cost you to buy stuff for your exercise? You may already have a timer in the kitchen. You can buy them very cheaply and they can be switched to count the seconds after pressing the button or to beep after the time that you set. You can get a rough idea of your heart rate by setting the counter to beep after 6 seconds. Press the button on a heart beat, and start counting on the next heart beat. Multiply your count by ten to get 60 seconds worth. In theory, it would be more accurate to count for 1 minute, but during and after exercise your heart rate keeps changing, and six seconds gives you a good idea for those six seconds.

What does a violent workout do to your blood pressure? You can buy pressure/heart rate monitors fairly cheaply, but I go to the blood bank every two weeks and they tell me these little details.

Exercise weights - who needs them? I only have time for home exercise so I use my own weight, which I have always with me. Recently I got some exercise weights in the form of diver's weights (that help them sink faster) to fasten to my belt, because I don't weigh much. This adds 22 pounds to my weight, so I really have to work at it.

I sometimes do some skipping. When my house was built the electrician left me some half-inch copper cable. That is fairly heavy so I use it for skipping. If you try it, wear a hat. The cable hits the back of your head every now and again, and the hat prevents bruising!

More About My Workout

If you hate exercise as much as I do, then you can't beat the PACE program. I used it (without dieting) to take my waistline down from 35 inches to 32 inches. Why? Because I didn't want to buy a new suit. Now I can wear out the old one. As a bonus, my heart and lungs have improved.

If you are a bit more enthusiastic about exercise, you could read this free fitness exercise eBook. Better still, get the PACE program and get the free eBook, so you can get the best of both of them.
