Self Healing: I'd probably get shot or smothered in lawyers if I recommended it, so I'll just tell you a little about my thoughts on healing yourself without giving you any advice - OK?

Early experiences

My parents involved doctors as little as possible. Specialists are still best after a life-threatening accident - you don't want to waste time seeing if self-healing will work! My classmate who was always top of the class got vaccinated and it sent him to the looney bin (that was before Political Correctness was invented). So I was glad when my compulsory vaccination came up before our trip to South America that Dad gave us all the homeopathic remedy for smallpox before the vaccination.

Unfortunately that prevented the vaccination working so next time Dad waited till a few hours after the vaccination before giving us the homeopathic remedy. This time a tiny sore developed, and after some hesitation the doctor decided that it was good enough.

My sister got croup one night. The doctor refused to get out of bed, so Dad gave her the homeopathic remedy for croup. Years later when she was a sister in hospital she mentioned to a surgeon that she had had croup. He said "You're lucky. I only know of one treatment that could save your life". My sister named the homeopathic remedy, and the surgeon said "That's the one!"

I learned early to dig out splinters and thorns from myself. Well, I was so active that I got too many thorns to keep coming back to Mum to dig them out. I realized quite early too that when Mum kissed it better I was really healing myself.

Later Childhood

Then I learned which homeopathic remedy would make my body push broken glass out, without me having to dig it out with a needle. (Dad used the same remedy to get rid of a bullet in the head of a friend, that had bothered him for over 30 years and was too dangerous to operate. The next day the bullet was a lump under the skin and when the skin was lanced, out popped the bullet.)

I was always eating things that I shouldn't (mostly unripe fruit, because I wasn't patient enough to wait for them to ripen on the trees) and often got bellyache. So I learned the homeopathic remedy and was soon healing my own bellyaches like an expert.

I had been taught to cover cuts with sticking plaster to keep out the dirt, but noticed that wounds took longer to heal that way. The wound healing was almost always accompanied by moisture and pus. If I missed off the plaster and just allowed dirt to get into the wound, my wound healing would be much quicker.

Teenage Experience

In my teens I realized that doctors would only give me an appointment for next week, so I got more interested in healing myself which was quicker. I was mostly bothered by acne, sores in the skin, and headaches as a teenager. Then I admitted that the homeopathic grouping of "the great unwashed" fitted me perfectly, and I could get rid of my skin complaints and headaches with homeopathic sulphur. Sometimes when I got sinus headaches I treated myself with Merc. Sol, and that turned out to cure laryngitis within a few minutes each time I got it.

Adult Experiences

A work-mate showed me a thin scar in his thigh (it was 115 Fahrenheit so he was wearing as little as possible). He had dropped a white-hot iron rod on his thigh, and it burned a trench that he could rest a pencil in. He cut an Aloe vera leaf open lengthwise and strapped the inside against the burn. That's when I learned to use Aloe vera for my self-healing, and have had it in my garden ever since.

Comfrey was too effective so the doctors got it banned to suppress the competition. I once made a comfrey ointment that cured eczema that a friend had had for all her life. It can cure things that conventional medicine can't cure so that is why it was banned.

Every now and again I come across other things to help my self healing, such as astragalus, shiitake mushrooms, echinacea, tea-tree oil, or just plain vitamin C. I can now avoid getting the flu or cure myself in 3 days if I get it, but that is another story that will have to wait for another page. But my main resource mostly avoids the need for healing myself. It is nutrition.

Bone fracture healing is the perfect example of healing yourself. The physician can splint your bones into place, but you do the healing. Comfrey used to be called bone-knit or knit-bone because it makes bones heal faster, but it is still your own body that is doing the healing.
