A health plan doesn't just happen. I first realized that healthy foods can be bad for you without a plan many years ago. It was spring. Calves that had been born and raised indoors over winter were allowed out onto the fresh spring grass, and got such severe scouring (diarrhoea ) that their lives were threatened. The grass was much more healthy for them than the stuff they had been surviving on over the winter, but the farmer should have introduced them to the improved food gradually. He failed to plan.

Fruit and Vegetables are good for you

Yes they're good for you but if you don't have a good long-term program, and suddenly start eating 14 serves of them each day you will go the way of the calves.

Exercise is good for you

Your program should include exercise - gradually. If you are obese and diabetic and walk 20 miles the first day after sitting in front of the TV for 10 years you will probably be brought home in an ambulance.

Here is how I would start applying alternative health care gradually.

Coconut Oil

The epidemic of obesity is the result of the sneaky designs of doctors and drug manufacturers. They they plan for you to get fat so that they can sell you drugs to slim so their scam is working.

Unsaturated vegetable oils are the main culprit. They can be used to fatten pigs but have the unfortunate side effect of causing cancer and heart attacks. Stop using unsaturated vegetable oils completely for cooking.

You can pour olive oil over your salads and even drink it but it's dangerous to use it in cooking. Instead use coconut oil for all your cooking and try to get at least 2 tablespoons of it in what you eat each day.

That's a good start to your new timetable because you are just removing poisons so your body won't get upset. If that is all you do you should start losing weight slowly. Most of that will be because you have stopped using vegetable oils, but a little bit is because coconut oil is burned for energy, and uses stored fat in the process.

Diabetes

Another good reason to take care with an alternative health plan when you have diabetes is that if you cut out all refined starches and sugars and your diabetes disappeared, you could be poisoned by your diabetes medication before your next visit to the doctor.

Plans for slowly decreasing the amounts of refined sugars and starches will give your doctor time to see what is happening, and change your medication. Don't try to cut out your medication yourself, even when you think your diabetes has disappeared...see your doctor.

Exercise

If you weigh several hundred pounds, you are doing exercise each time you stand up. It is like me trying to stand with someone twice my weight on my shoulders. If I didn't collapse I would be burning energy rapidly. So if you can stand up for ten minutes after each meal that is a good start to your health plan.

If you are able to walk round the house for a couple of minutes a day, then increase your walk by 10% each day. That will take you a little over a week to work up to four minutes each day, then eight minutes in another eight days and so on. Your health medicine plan should be to do everything gradually.

Alternative health is great, but take care and never rush your program. And remember that you don't need health medicine with a good health plan.
