Asthma medical nutrients are often the key to free breathing. But you shouldn't rush out and buy vitamins and minerals. Instead you should get your nutrition from your healthy food.

Potassium

Magnesium

No, I don't mean milk of magnesia. Get your magnesium from fruit and vegetables. You need a good balance between calcium and magnesium. Modern diets give you too much calcium and too little magnesium. Fruit and vegetables have the right balance of these medical nutrients - Calcium and Magnesium minerals.

Magnesium is a natural broncho-dilator. I don't like that statement. I strongly suspect that the truth is that asthma and other things that constrict airways can be caused by deficiency in Magnesium. When you end the deficiency you appear to "cure" the complaint, but you are only feeding your body what it needs.

See the main health food section to find out what health foods have lots of the mineral magnesium. This is one of the important nutrients for health. The obvious ones are pumpkin seeds (a large handful or three oz or 85g should do the trick). Brazil nuts are a good source but it is easy to get an overdose of selenium (your body needs selenium, but too much is poison) so eat only 4 nuts per day, which gives you only a third of your magnesium requirements. Bran (yes that stuff that food manufacturers steal from your wheat and then sell back to you as health food) would have enough in 100 grams.

But most nuts and beans have some magnesium so you don't really have to get this nutrient all from one source.

Antioxidants

lead researcher Dr. Andrew Fogarty from the University of Nottingham in the UK told Reuters Health that since asthma involves increased levels of free radicals (oxidants), antioxidants such as vitamin E may be among the most important health foods for your purpose..

Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables which have thousands of different polyphenol antioxidants that are easy to digest to give you the right medical nutrients.

Synephrine

This is a good decongestant, which can help alleviate attacks.

Summary

Nutrients are important, but you don't really have to worry too much about which food has which nutrient if you are eating a diet with a rich variety of organic fruit and vegetables. That way you don't have to worry if you are eating enough pumpkin seeds to get enough magnesium. You should get all the medical nutrients you need if you eat a wide enough assortment of fruit and vegetables, including nuts and beans.
