Detractors say that nobody has proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that less polluted air will help your asthma. They might be right (apart from tobacco smoke) but it's much more pleasant to inhale oxygen that has been through a scrubber of some sort.

HEPA stands for high efficiency particulate air. It is a standard of quality that will fail any equipment that allows more than three particles in a thousand of 3 microns diameter to slip through the filters. This is a very high success rate indeed, and will easily remove tobacco smoke particles. The standard is for 3 microns because this is the most difficult diameter. Larger and smaller particles are easier to remove.

Negative ions lead to positive thinking. In the Middle East there is a wind that lasts for several days that is loaded with positive ions. All anybody outdoors can do is try to survive the unpleasant experience. Industrial conditions and built-up areas have too few negative ions, but you can buy equipment that adds negative ions so that your workers don't have to suffer through it.

You can even use humidifiers if some of your employees have asthma and you are in a dry climate. Of course you would never use one in a humid climate.
